unfortunately, this is not the only or most important issue facing our country today.
as usual, obama is cagey about it. he said he’s for medical marijuana if science and doctors think its okay. the f.d.a says “no sound scientific studies” supported the medical use of marijuana. so just exactly what agency, group, or person is obama going to listen to? he’s changed his stance on so many things, i just don’t believe he can be trusted. and i won’t vote for somebody who will be raising our taxes to take care of the rest of the world.
a vote for a third party candidate is basically a vote for obama or mccain, so their opinions don’t matter. the presidient has very limited power in this area. the people you should be concentrating on are candidates for congress and the senate.

I am sick and tired of people saying that voting for anyone other than Obama or McCain is a vote for either one. If all the people I have heard say that would in fact write in Ron Paul, who has always been against big government, then Ron Paul would easily become president. No one seems to trust Obama OR McCain so why vote for either one?! I’m not.

if you don’t vote you are giving a prescious vote to mccain who will never legalize it…he is against science alltogether!! vote OBAMA!!

Given McCain’s ability to completely jettison his past positions and commitments to serve political whims and currents, it seems apparent that any lukewarm commitment he gives early in his campaign to not raiding dispensaries is not reliable. Obama is much more clear and is absolute in his resolve to not using federal resources to prosecute medical marijuana and to leave the issue to the states.

No one can “easily become president.” I am heartened to hear these forward-looking statements by all of the candidates. When I was 16, I would never in my life have believed that marijuana would still be illegal at the turn of the 21st century, but now I am 55 and the anxiety and danger involved in using or simply possessing it are greater than ever while it is no longer (as it once was) fairly simple for a cop to pick out a marijuana user from a group of people by his age, appearance, demeanor, or his clothing. We have seen the suppression of opposition to the war on drugs move from the intellectual arena to a point where outspoken support for a rational, constitutional approach to drugs and the fields of law and medicine marks a person as a user, rendering his opinion and even his reason suspect. We are now, fortunately, moving away from that prejudice (or so I hope) to a point where alternatives can be reasonably discussed and, perhaps, explored.

Remember when Bush said he was going to leave it to the states, too? Can ANY politician be trusted by what they say? NO, not one of them. I might have considered the Libertarian Party’s candidate again for its value as a protest vote, if they hadn’t nominated (Bob Barr) a recycled drug warrior! The “democratic process” is broken. At this point I prefer not voting at all.

Marijuana is harmless. It should be legal, taxed and sold in stores. That alone would pump $50 billion dollars into our crippled economy every year. Legalisation would create 100,000 jobs. Legalise today!

WHY don’t people ask THE question?
Instead of asking “Do you support it” or, “Do you believe we’re misusing our resources in dealing with marijuana use?”, why not ask them, “WHY is marijuana such an issue in the first place?!” and “WHY do we not relax on it or legalize it?”
It is NOT the same as Morphine, or as powerful, nor is it as powerful as any NARCOTIC (which it is NOT, by TECHNICAL DEFINITION) and why are we even USING LEGAL DEFINITIONS?
Nor is itt as dangerous as ALCOHOL.
So, WHY don’t people start talking about what it ISN’T for a change and get the story and general concensus straight to begin with?
We need a common, rational, AND technical (NOT legal nor emotional) response and understanding in order to begin a sane dialog from.
Yes?

Anybody that really wants anything done about this subject needs to start at a local/state level first. Then from the state point of view it will have to hit federal as they get elected. All of the people that are for the reform of Cannabis/Hemp laws, need to stop being scared of what others think of there beliefs and scared of being criminally prosecuted and stand up for yourself and your fellow brothers and sisters. Our government needs to start hearing the people and the people need to start talking. Send letters to your state officials. You can get all the info at NORML’s web site. Get involved in you local harvests fests “if your lucky to have one in your area”. Educate others on the governments “big lie” and racial propaganda!!!

Gordon,
Actually, this video is the first to turn me ON to Obama. I liked his answers simply because he spoke to exactly your point: Why is weed such a big deal?
His answer was pretty on target, its not a good use of our resources. Even accepting that its not a healthy action, even accepting that there may be doubt on medical benefit (obviously many here don’t feel that way, but, for the sake of argument lets accept these things), accepting all that, you still have the fundamental question “Is this an effective use of resources”. Every man-hour spent on marijuana has to be paid for, and its paid for with money that is taxed from the earnings of other people who put in work to make that money. So simple buisness, is it even effective?
He answered right, and his answer cut through all the bullshit red herring arguments. Its not even worth discussing the merrits of marijuana, when the demerits of prohibition and recognition that we have plenty of other areas that need those funds are ample enough.
A smart man knows how to keep the discussion on topic, and I thought his answers were quite deft on that front. He cut right to the heart of the matter and didn’t get muddied up in the details. Really, the quickest way to lose ground in the public forum is to get derailed from the real issue at hand.
I often malign congresscritters and their ilk for talking about “the message we send to children” when, in reality, it makes sense: Message is very important in the public forum. Most people are not policy wonks, Its like George Lakoff explained: If you say you are against the “Tax Relief” package, then people hear you acknowledging taxes are a burden, and opposing relief. You have already lost the argument in the public forum.
It is quite unfortunate that “message” is frquently more important than substance. However, we can cry about it, or we can exercise a little realpolitik and polish up the message.

All Political power is inherent in the People. And that means YOU!
We ALL have a great opportunity right now to weed out the bad, self and big business serving rats that have done far more wrong and damage than anything else. And please STOP buying into the nonsense that not voting for noe of the so called top two main party candidates is wasting your vote. It’s YOUR vote and if you do not like any of the top tier choices DO NOT VOTE FOR THEM, bring your pens and pencils with you and if you can NOT think of anyone actually worthy of your vote then write in “NONE OF THE ABOVE” and KEEP writing it in until you find a real choice. What IF they held an election and we didn’t elect any of them? IF that happened we would have to find new people and hold a new election, as is our right. And if there was no congress in the meantime, well we wouldn’t have any more bad laws thrust upon us would we? And they couldn’t create more debt, could they?
Do you have any idea at all that the total debt the feds have racked up is now over 53 TRILLION DOLLARS? IT is time to pull the plug and put a stop to this rape of our rights, our Freedoms, and our pockets.
Do not vote the same old worthless politicians back for another term. And I mean at all levels city country state and federal.
It’s IS our country, let’s just take it back, all we have to do is VOTE for only those that are worthy, the ones that have a plan in hand, all written out and are not ashamed of it, won’t worry more about the latest poll than getting the job that needs to be done DONE! For anyone that wants to be re-elected ask to see everything they have already done and if they have nothing to show you then say NO and move on. Accept no more excuses or double talk PERIOD!
Time to get tough and use your vote like the club it is.

It’s time to use jury nullification. If you get jury duty, don’t try to get out of it. When you’re questioned by the judge, tell him/her what they want to hear. You will follow the law, you will look at the facts, bla bla bla. Then, if you’re on a case where somebody is charged with a non-violent drug offense, automatically vote not guilty. If the other people on the jury don’t want to go along with you, that’s OK. At least, you will cause a hung jury. Then the hartless prosecutor will have to try the case again or make a deal. If you’re a defendant, don’t make any deal with the prosecutor no matter how good it sounds. We need to stand up to the politicians who refuse to stop the war on drugs and hartless prosecutors who enforce these bad laws.

There has got to be a way to sue the policy and law makers for the horrible collateral damages, deaths US sponsered civil war (in South America) and the misery caused by this insane war. “Harm Reduction”, some decriminalization and regulation are what a responsible Gov’t would do, especially in a free society.
The only way to help end this insanity is for people to start filing civil suits for huge amounts of punitive and actual dollar damages against those responsible for the policies in place.
Now I believe legislators and other policy makers are supposedly immune to such charges. However victims, both those directly and those affected indirectly can sue the cities and law enforcement of those cities and counties responsible for the damages. Whether or not these suits are successful or not is not the only outcome. If millions of Americans file charges, in a few years it will bring attention to the national mind set. It will also create historical proof of gross incompetence against those responsible and will tarnish their lives for future historian to view.
The only way to end this insane drug war is to “break the bank” of our Gov’t and those responsible. By doing so, law and policy makers will carefully pay attention to the details, the negative impacts and the far reaching consequence of their laws and policies. This will enable law and policy makers to reevaluate their decisions so they may either modify or repeal laws that cause more harm than good.
Everyone makes mistakes. Even Gov’ts. That’s fine. However when a mistake is done over and over again with dire consequences and damage to society, it becomes criminally negligent. It may not be a bad idea for all victims to file a complaint of gross incompetence to a local authority or to some official agency for a matter of record. Maybe even gain momentum to actually file charges against those responsible.
People, we Americans have got to end this insanity. We must bring real accountability to our law and policy makers. The damage alone to the credibility and trust of our judicial system will take generations to repair.
We must teach our leaders that trust and respect are earned, and not bullied.
To think the money squandered in one year could have repaired and updated the New Orleans levee system, preventing the Katrina disaster. This example should be a red flag for us Americans to stand up and demand our will onto our leaders.

i will vote for Obama, how ever he will be assassinated probably by a government agency fueled by big money private interest. I work cannabis connections in Cleveland. The drug war has always been about alcohol more than the cotton industry, or others. Whenever i am asked to speak at an event i have and will continue to direct people’s trust to MPP. At the store i direct people to MPP.org Please stop drinking american beer. they take your money but in secret give part to the government. the government then launders the money into different police agencies. You are drug tested to see if you are enjoying anything but alcohol. if you are you’ll either be fired or forced into a substance abuse program. WOULD YOU CONSIDER THIS TYPE ACTION SANE? Drink imported alcohol. PLEASE STOP FEEDING THE PROBLEM…PLEASE enough already. they say we are hurting their profits? OK lets fight back. its not illegal to drink an import so lets hurt em. look at what they’ve been doing to you….

Face it, we’re not going to achieve victory in this election, no matter who wins. Given that, Obama is a little better than McCain. With McCain, we get a grade of F. Obama yields a D. A D is better than an F.

“Land of the free” Vote for Obama or Mccain “Go ahead make my day”
Make this place worse than ever .Is anything getting better-I am so very ready to leave this country if either of these two make it & the congressmen & women who keep everything the same to benefit them.We must change this country. As said above you also need to strongly focus on congress as well.Have you seen that child molesters receive way less penalties than marijuana offenders. These people destroy generations upon generations.Marijuana will never become legal -our wonderful govt. is making way too much from the confiscations of properties & fines & probation/parole violations which is also incredibly overcrowding the jails so that the people who actually deserve to be in part of our 5,000 plus incarcerations are not.1 in 97 people are incarcerated,More than any other countr!Land Of the Free????WAKE UP PEOPLE.This country needs help NOW

Beign on dial-up, I couldn’t watch the videos. It would be helpful to have a documents with partial transcripts or even a comparison chart that could be passed around to those not on the ‘Net. That said, I enjoyed reading the comments and in particular found it encourageing that one person was favorably impressed by my candidate, Obama. I realize he isn’t perfect, has been making concessions to the center, but he is still IMHO a much better choice than the militaristic McCain and his reactionary VP nominee, Palin. It’s an insult to women to think that we will vote Republican just because McCain nominated a basically unqualified woman.

The “real” issue with marijuana seems to not even be related with this plant at all and instead related to a very similar plant that could only get you high if you smoked 20 joints in 30 seconds, and even then it would only last seconds. This plant is the Hemp plant which gets tossed right in with marijuana and linked with it. You actually need a license to grow hemp for commercial use in America, and this license is extremely hard to obtain. Why though ? Hemp is so useful to an economy it is sickening; one acre of hemp could produce as much paper as four acres of trees and it grows right back in one or two months. This is just one of the many things that shows a threat to corporations all over whom already have paper making operations the way they do it and would not want to spend the money to change the process. Hell the first 13 colonies of the United States of America were required to grow hemp, and it was considered a staple crop

a third party candidate Wallace /lemay recieved 46 electoral votes in 1968.
so people need to stop believing that a third party candidate cant’ win…what is required is persistance and the idea that it’s more important to vote for what you want instead of what is popular…a third party candidate could build up their fan base and by the 3rd or 4th election win the white house in 2016 or 2020.that would force the dems and the republicans to work harder to stay in the top two ..like one year it could be independant vs democrat with republicans far behind or vise versa..plus they would be forced to change the number of electoral votes needed to win

We now have unwarented, random drug testing. One day my employer said “pee in this cup”. My union said “pee”. I refused on 4th ammendment grounds. I lost my job, no unemployment! Still out of work. Thank you for at least trying to restore a free country. Without the bill of rights, we are doomed!
My vote goes to Bob Barr. The Libertarians at least say they are for freedom, Barr seems shakey but at least his party is on the right side.

Obama seems like he is for medicinal marijuana, but i don’t trust him with any other issues, Pallin seems like a better candidate than Obama and shes running for vice president. Why can’t the government actually be ran by the people and for the people. I’m sick of throwing up every moring and pot is the only drug that works. Every drug the dr’s prescribe do not work for nausea. We need to be able to vote for what we want legal not what the people we vote for want legal.. Legalize medicinal pot in Pennsylvania Now!!

I don’t get it folks. Maybe you can enlighten me.
You would rather your vote be cast AWAY from Obama, to a third party, so you feel righteous? Because you don’t think he can be trusted? Because you really don’t care if Mccain/Palin win? It’s time to step up, or get out.
Obama, and this movement needs your vote. We need every vote to get us closer to victory, and Obama WILL get us closer to this victory.
It’s not that you will be caving in, you will help stop this monster that is trying to turn back the clock 50 years. At this point in the election, any candidate will move to the center to attract voters, ANY of them. They have to in order to win. IF YOU DON’T WIN, NOTHING you want to do will ever happen. First, get elected, then you can move to your positions and make things happen that are further left (or right) of the main stream voter.
A vote for an independent is wonderful and fantastic and all that. But don’t come crying to me if we get another Bush in office because of 370,000 votes that could have made a difference. Suck it up and vote for the better of the 2, we can be selfish when there is not so much at stake.

To reduce this national debt FAST, The Bills written by Barney Frank H.R.5842 H.R.5843 would be of a HUGE interest!?!?!
It has already been PROVEN that our government spends A LOT of $$$ on raiding/arresting sick and dying people and dispensaries in California and Oregon.
Passing this bill would not remove our national debt.. But it will put a HUGE dent in it.
I’m told there is A LOT of wasteful spending in the US. But this is something that MANY see that is just plain STUPID
These two bills are to be talked about and debated on. But with our economy sinking like it is. This to me and others just seems like something that will QUICKLY bring the US A LOT of money and not do any damage

I will vote for Obama. Hasn’t anyone seen the PREZ GUIDE on their stances on marijuana, I mean that IS why everyone is on this website , no?
First, Not alot of nominees got an A for their view on our current policies, but Obama did.. But Mcain? Got an F for his stance on marijuana, Doesn’t anyone read the newsletters form mpp.org. That’s the Marijuana policy project. at mpp.org.
Does anyone really think that they (mpp) support Mcain? I venture to say NO! They support which prez supports legalizing marijuana and it aint freakin Mcain!
MCain= more failed policies. . more drilling oil, more wars for oil= oil prez.
Obama knows that 1 outa 5 prisoners is black and in prison for marijuana.
Obama knows that our current drug war has failed
Mcain doesn’t even give a damn. If you like your smoke , then why the hell vote for a conservative republican like Mcbush. Just does NOT make sense!

Obama will make little difference in current drug policy . Both democrats and republicans have kept the drug war going for years , and they will continue to pick apart our constitution . Its time for some new blood and a REAL change . Albert Einstein once said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. Democrat or Republican IS the same thing over and over again . Our only hope is a third party . Check out ( votenader.org ) I will not try to pick the lesser of 2 evils this year .

Obama wants to increase tax on job incomes from 15% to 25%.
Obama wants to further tax the wealthy when they ALREADY pay 90% of our nation’s taxes.
Don’t let a decision on whether or not he’ll “possibly” decriminalize marijuana affect your vote. Use it well!
good video
legalize it now!

I see alot of you are thinking Mccain will not vote in favor of legalization of marijuana for any purpose. But most of you underestimate his running mate. Have any of you checked out Alaska’s marijuana laws. You can own in the privacy of your own home up to 1 ounce without worry of any criminal charges. You can also grow up to 24 plants My point here is don’t totally rule out the possibility thanks to Palin. http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=4516

Hi Folks:
As a 37 year user(I’m 60 years young), I have lost any faith in America’s ability to think straight on the issue of marijuana legalization. Most people who I know, many who are quite conservative, could’nt care less whether people toke up in their homes. They are just too apathetic to study the facts of the horrible cost it is inflicting on this country. Too many have the attitude that it’s OK to use, but don’t want to take the next logical step, of legalizing and regulating it. They ignore the facts that marijuana in this country is often run by corrupt dealers who don’t care about the prices, the quality, or even the strength that they are dispensing. The realistic attitude of licensing growers for growing organic quality cannabis of different strains and potencies; setting up licensed shops for controlled distribution to adults; education into the different strains and the effects elicited; realistic drug education to discourage using any drugs, but harm reduction tactics for those who do choose to use; and the use of taxes for drug rehabilitation and education. This is my dream, but dreams don’t always come true, but that does’nt mean you give up and relinquish your ideals to the shackles of ignorance and complacency. As my favorite poet, Dylan Thomas, said: “Do not go gently into that good night, but rage, rage against the dying of the light.” The only good cause to fight for is a hopeless cause.

Will, I’m not sure if you’re aware but since Palin has been Governor of Alaska they have been trying to eliminate there law ans send user to prison. Don’t forget she hasn’t even been in office 2 years. She is so evangelical I don’t know how anyone could think she would favor decriminalization for any reason.

First of all just remember these guys will say anything to get elected. Obama is a puppet he will not help to legalize marijuana at all. I would say the best chance we have of getting marijuana legalized is Palin. She comes from a state that has very sensible laws, and she has been a whiteness to how well the law works. Don’t let the words of a liar persuade your vote. Due to an accident I have had my life dramatically changed I am not so sure that marijuana helps me with the pain so much, but I will say that I would have taken my own life years ago due to depression if it had not been for the small amount of marijuana that I use. There are many methods to help with depression, and the one that works best for me is marijuana. Maybe some day we will all have the same laws as Alaska, and not have to live in fear of going to jail for trying to treat our pain and suffering the way we chose to. I truly believe that there is strength in numbers, so take a stand, and write to your Congressman to let him or her know what you truly think about the way your rights are being stepped on.

AGAIN, ths video only reinforces my decision to vote for Barack Obama. He is rational, intelligent and right! This “drug war” is a complete and utter failure! It is immoral that so many young black and Latino men (predominently) are languishing in prison for using marijuana. Anyone who thinks that morphine is preferrable to marijuana in relieving pain, is fooling him/herself! Morphine is most definitely the more dangerous drug! The “Drug War” is just one more way (like “Guns”, Gays” and “God”) of the Right Wing fanatics diverting our attention from the really important issues affecting so many of our lives, like the Iraq War, the lack of Health Care and our disintegrating Economy and record high unemployment rates. I am sick of them.
Oh, and by the way, Mr. Barr, the “government” is supposed to be of, for and by the PEOPLE! I know that that idea is unrecognizable under this administration and the McSame one John McCain and Baracuda Palin would continue in Washington. Funny how when the Democrats are in the White House, the Middle Class working people get jobs and actually appreciate the government for helping that situation out, instead of giving all the breaks to the filthy rich people and Corporations. HMMMMMM. Funny how that works.

Legalize freedom! One inalienable property right is your own body. It took your body 13.7 billion years to get here, it will only be around for a very short time. Do with it what you will. It is not the government not anyone else’s business what you do with your own body.
If you are not responsible for your own actions, then nobody is.
Live free, then die. If you want to inhale, that it your choice and nobody else has a right to say otherwise. If anyone tries to stop you by force, rather than through rational discussion, then they are the criminals, not you.

If there was ever an un-American policy in the United States it is the policy that creates felons and criminals out of otherwise law abiding, decent Americans for the use of cannabis in any and all of its forms. It is an outrage that criminally erroneous disinformation has been spewed relentlessly by our government in a misguided attempt to dictate what Americans can choose to take into their own bodies.
To suggest that Americans deserve to be locked up like criminals, like caged animals, because they choose to relax with a joint instead of a beer or a cup of tea is as un-American as it can get.
If you support this nation’s cannabis prohibition you are a traitor to the intentions of the framers of our Constitution and Bill of Rights that we should live free and unfettered from the confines of a restrictive government’s intrusions of our pursuit of liberty.
NO MORE shall you steal our children and take our custody rithts. No more shall you steal our property (pot causes seizures…of your property!). No more shall you brand us criminals and cage us with murderers, thieves and rapists. No more shall you invade our blood streams, deny us work, housing, the opportunities that ever other Americans enjoy.
WE ARE STANDING TALL.
WE ARE PEACEFULLY FIGHTING BACK.
WE ARE AMERICANS WHO DEMAND OUR FREEDOM.
We are told the terrorists hate us for our freedom. Then it is simple; give us a little more of it and really piss the bastards off!
Yes, we need a change, and it is a coming.
FREEDOM!
Come visit us, we are the largest cannabis gathering on Earth.

I had a accident on May 16, 1990 the end result of that accident was a massive brain stem stroke, this stroke left me paralyzed from the eyes down. In the fall of 1994 I discovered that marijuana was good for my condition, I was following the news about a woman in California, and the thing’s she said confirmed what I felt and thought. (Marijuana worked!) (better than any medication) being that marijuana wasn’t legal yet and I didn’t want to take the law into my completely I alerted my doctor who basically told me do what work’s for you! With that being said I began a 13yr unauthorized experiment, It’s now 13 years later, and a once badly broken man may soon walk again despite what over a thousand medical experts and life care planners said.
I don’t really give a damn who get’s the chair of prestige, I just want someone to recognize this is a badly hurt country, and if our Gov don’t wise up thing’s can go from bad to worse.

There is so much corruption in the government, there is little hope for total legalization anytime soon. Do you think Frank Lucas using the military to smuggle drugs was an isolated incident? Hardly! Do you wonder why big American companies ship thousands of tons of Methyl Ethyl Keytone (a cocaine precursor) into South America? I don’t! Why did poppy production in Afganistan increase when we are supposedly controlling the airspace and enforcing a military state? I know! We are being bamboozled by our government and big businesses! The military is bringing the stuff in, the politicians & corporate big wigs are making boatloads of cash on it, and the guy with 2 joints in his sock is on the side of the road with his trunk open, being harassed by drug warrior cowboys. Then once those 2 joints are found, that poor guy is thrown into a system that takes away alot of his money & liberty and forces him into a government endorsed 12 step program. A program where 92% of people FAIL! I dont know any cannabis users who have to steal or prostitute themselves to support their “habit”, but cannabis users are treated like heroin addicts as there is no distinction between the two. Both are narcotics as far as the gov. is concerned
Sure, they may throw us a perverbial “bone”, and we may get medical marijuana, but we should have had total legalization last century!!! There is too much money to be made by “them” having it illegal and no amount of common sense or financial sense is going to make a difference to “them”.
Obama could fix this entire financial crisis with a simple tax on cannabis but he is just like the rest of the Democrats and we will see nothing, as usual. Maybe more crime bills and less civil liberties. Liberties that we lost, mind you, because of a handful of assholes with BOX CUTTERS! We need papers to leave our homes now? I had a friend who was arrested for not having his identification! This is the beginning of the end of our modern Roman Empire.

I have been voting for the liberal party since late 80’s and they don’t ever get enough help. I feel they need more press, the mainstream news won’t report on them or give us any good press on Drug reform. And I don’t understand why? I have written letter after letter showing them our Government wants us to die. So they can continue to get the money form the drug industery. You see that every day on TV there are more drug add then anything else. I just so with there was really something we could do shout of moving to other counties.

Let me tell you people that if you think Palin is anything but a self-centered evil person, than you better start educating yourself. That woman is about the scariest thing this country has witnessed in a long time. Wake up people. We will never get the polititions to do what’s right on the drug issue, until we’re able to exert enough pressure from the grass roots level.

I think some of you are missing the entirety of this election. Granted, having a pres that is pro pot would be nice, but I look at the big picture – which one is going to cause less problems for the country, or in a more positive way – which one is going to help this country get back up to where it should be?

In response to the above comment, legalization is a huge issue to me, as everyday I deal with the reality that, at any given moment, I could be persecuted and jailed for marijuana use. Prohibition of alcohol, in it’s time, was also a huge issue, and nearly divided the country. Fortunately, for the government’s drug war, the majority of pot smokers are content to hide behind the curtains and hope for a better day.
Our government exerts far too much power over it’s people, regardless of which issue you choose to apply to that statement. It just so happens that this is a pro-marijuana website, so obviously Rick, this will be the issue at hand. (Duh.) I, for one, am ready for change. I still am undecided as to who to vote for, though.
Legalize!

Mcain/Palin is the wrong choice for mmj users, they will keep putting mmj users in prison to let them die. What the hell ? Yout think evangelical PALIN is going to go softer on the “WAR ON DRUGS”? lol. You can also forget HEMP as EVER being legal, MCAIN is an OIL lobbyist, does anyone actually think He will want hemp legal? HELL NO. Obama is part black, 1outa 5 black go to jail for cannabis, you think he will keep those policies? I think not, Mcain / Palin are predjudice and they can’t even believe that their competitor is BLACK> that’s the bane of their existence!

Marijuana and Morphine, the same!?!?! Not at all. Morphine is a serious drug that you can easily overdose, causes nausea and other disturbing side effects….mary jane causes NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!! He’s a dork and he’s going to be our next president…. we’re screwed. it’s hopeless.
Over the past 60 yrs numerous medical and scientific groups have released proof positive information showing that Marijuana is COMPLETELY NON TOXIC. These reports also go on to state that there is more benefit to smoking and/or ingesting marijuana, then there is harm. The only harm of marijuana has nothing to do with the substance. It’s the law that is most dangerous to your life.
Marijuana is listed as a narcotic. Unfortunately for the dunce who came up with that lie, if a drug is non-toxic, how can it be a drug. Let’s ban crayons because children eat them all the time and let’s falsely claim that crayons are harmful to children. It’s just as much bullturd as the current laws.
Is anyone even aware of where the marijuana laws originated? If not too bad for you, because the truth was on THE HISTORY CHANNEL not too long ago. The truth is that back in 1953, one senator who was a sick racist, was trying to find a way to circumvent the constitution to kick out all the Mexicans that we coming into SoCal. He focused on the huge amount of marijuana that was coming into the country with them. He created all sorts of propaganda flicks to make marijuana look liek the all time worst drug ever. Needless to say his campaign got hung up on a snag and that snag was Fiorello LaGuardia, Mayor of NYC at the time. He proposed that he would support this petition against Marijuana only after a select panel of scientists and doctors that he selected, would perform a 6 month study of the “drug”. Any smoker can tell you the results of the test – ZERO! The tests proved nothing to substantiate the petition against it, at which point LaGuardia refused to offer support. Well loop-hole finders find hole in the law and the petition got past LaGuardia at his dismay.
Since the the law was once lifted. But again reinstated in the 60’s by Nixon, a lying, cheating, scammer WHO GOT EMPEACHED, only to distract the peoples attention from the other endless war, The Vietnam flub. He cast blame on the hippies as the scourge of the planet, ironically because these days it’s the hippies and their open minded way of thinking that has provided us with some of the best and most useful products.
So a cheating scam artist, lying prick made the law and the idiot lawmakers today continue to support it, thus inherently continueing to SUPPORT THE IDEALS OF A CHEATING, LYING, SCAMMER WHO WAS KISK OUT OF THE GOV FOR BEING A DICKHOLE!!!!!
Funny how people who never smoked set the laws for everyone else. Too bad the drug-czar doesn’t face the truth that over 65% of American smoke for recreation, whether legal or not. Too bad the dumbass is obviously no mathemetician, being so deluded to omit the fact that there is more to be gained by liberating marijuana both in patriotic support for the gov and in taxation dollars. Pot can cure our deficit, not just recreationally, but AH HA…industrially. Paper from the stacks, food items form the seeds, fuel from the oil, there is so much industrial benefit that we are losing out on as a people and as a country.
The simple stupid asses in our society scream that legalization will result in the collapse of the nation. See what and how far reaching, false propaganda is, and how harmful it is to society as a whole, more so than the drug is to the individual?
And lastly, let’s talk about “A Drug Free America”. Who got the nuts to prohibit Alcohol again? Hmmm? Bottomline is, legalization of alcohol was the same scenario. Did the country kill itse;f drinking when prohibition was lifted. On the contrary. The country experienced a huge criminalization of otherwise non-criminal people. They drank, the made the stuff, the sold it and all while illegal. So did the law stop it? No. It just made regular people into criminals, all because they wanted their buzz after a hard days work. Reality is that humans inherently need a buzz. Most people have self control and use alcohol in moderation and to safe levels. But IT IS STILL A DEADLY DRUG. A DRUG!!! YES ALCOHOL IS A DRUG!!! THE WORST ONE AND IT’S LEGAL!!!! WTF!!! Legal does not make it safe. Marijuana on the other hand is totally non toxic. There is no possibility of overdosing. Smoking to much leads to an immediate build up of tolerance and after 6 hours of smoking continuously, you will go straight. It will no longer have an effect on you. Drink alcohol for 2, just 2 hours continuously and you could DIE!!!!
Too bad my post and the truth and the History channel show “Hooked” will never get the attention that the liars and cheaters in our gov will get. Too bad that the truth will continue to be suppressed by idiots that have no experience and no clue. To bad the world is run by the self-righteous not the truly righteous. To bad for America that we are a living contradiction. And we wonder why the world hates us? I don’t. It’s pretty clear that logic and honesty ARE NOT the motivations of politicians. Racism, control, and societal stifling are the clear objectives. WHy, I don’t know, because all these things only make people disgruntled citizens, with no outlet for their stress. Getting high on life can only do so much for you. Soemtimes, and naturally so, we need to have a buzz other than on life. Besides, life encompasses every aspect of living and doing a drug whether it be alcohol or pot, is a normal part of living. Pot was here long before the laws and the world went on just fine smoking and drinking.
Lost words are what this post is. Lost in the great lie, the mass delusions, the perpetuation of self-righteous opinion chosen over logical and scientific proof!!! Too bad it’s not illegal to be an asshole and too bad that because of that, so many assholes are telling you and I how it is and what to do, when these boneheads couldn’t crawl out of a paper bag, even if you gave them a flashlight, instructions and a sherpa.

Well i did my part and voted. For what, I’m really not sure. This is America, Home of the Free, My Ass. I guess i voted for more lies and broken promises. As i stood on the corner holding my OBAMA sign, I was trick in to thinking i was doing a good thing. Supporting a person who i thought cared more for the people then big goverment. A person who would stand up for our rights and help those in need. We have no say in these bail-outs, we have no say in our own state laws even if the people vote it. It’s time to bail out own.

I have read the some of the comments that people are sharing about this video and I am appalled. I have read that someone wants to legalize Marijuana and tax the living crap out of it. Why tax a great thing? should not the federal government decriminalize it instead? if the federal government decriminalized marijuana and formed no way of taxing it, wouldn’t that be a beautiful way of giving rights back to the people? why condone the pork barrel spending of the federal government by providing it a new wave of taxation. I am also appalled, by the way, THIS VIDEO did not support the agenda of Dr. Ron Paul who has, if you look at the way he has voted in congress for years, been in favor of the American People.

How are we as a country going to get up to date in the medical field if the Government continues with its “War on Drugs” targeting the marijuana issues. The disease we are fighting is CANCER. It was found by research that it battles cancers.
The war is a peaceful one by the people, we are trying to peacfully resolve the war with the People of God versus the United States Government and local state, county, and city governments.
Why do they continue to ignore the response of the American People?
It is the duty of every free American to end this violation of Gods law and the law of this nation.
Specifically, the law that govern the use and aquisition of cannabis sativa, and herb declared by scientist, that bears seed. Now I would refer you to the scriptures reguarding the origins and uses by man; Genesis chapter 1 verses 29 and 30:
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you everyherb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yeilding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
This is God’s LAW and man has violated that law by incarcerating and killing people for using an herb that God made and placed in the Garden of Eden to help mankind get along and live long lives.
Cannabis sativa was developed by God.
Who is so blind that they cannot see the results of taking an intricate part of our DNA. There are THC receptors built into our systems, and when you take that natural process out you shorten the life.
Look at what you learn from scientists.
Now is the time to make reparation to these people that have been violated by the Law.
Repentance proceedures, as set forth in the Bible are expected by the People of God, to the U.S. Government for this clear violation.
The Laws governing cannabis sativa were done so by perjurious information, citing specifically the lies made popular by the movie “Reefer Madness” produced and developed the U.S. Government. The Leguardia report stated the real scientific results and yet the information being sent to mainstream America were complete lies.
And now we see the results of the U.S. Government trying to keep the one thing that supresses violent tendancies of mankind.
The results are a scourge upon the earth that we know as CANCER. What will stop it is simple. My words are simple.
Legalize Marijuana NOW or the scourge will be tenfold, Thus Saith The Lord.
Now is our time to make the reparations necessary for humanity to enjoy the real freedom that one has in life if their diet is in direct relation to what we learn in the Scriptures from God.
Those who oppose on this issue oppose also God, I’m merely a messenger.
Forward to 3 friends and President Obama

I am a 56 year old veteran who recently broke his back during an accident which occurred on the job. I also am a cigarette smoker of over 40 years. I suffer from acid reflux, asthma and cronic degenerative arthritis. To say the least I have no appetite, am short of breath, weak and crippled. Not to mention living with this constant pain on a fixed income. Why is it that all our government leaders cannot see the benefit they and their constituents (including MPP supporters like myself) could receive if medicinal or limited marijuana use was legalized, governed, properly taxed and made available.
The amount of money saved in our court systems, police expenses and other miscellaneous state and federal resources poorly administered would deminish. The local, state and federal coffers would explode with the legetimate revenue generated and eliminate the need to place all our social illes upon the backs of the common cigarette smoker. It’s just not fair is it? I currently take a barage of dangerous prescription drugs which if I were allowed to replace with marijuana, which does provide great relieve, increases my appetite, reduces the pain allowing me to be more mobile I would do it in a heartbeat. Hey, let’s get our heads out of our asses and get real, this is the 21st century afterall. Thank you.

I am a 52 year old women, with no criminal record. I have received two traffic tickets in my life. On the morning of Oct. 26, 2007, while I amd my housemates were sleeping, we were raided by our county and the feds. We had legal scripts for our plants, we had done everything we were told to do to be in compliance. We had just harvested two plants and had the remaining plants to go. They law come in with guns, and stole everything we had been growing, and all that had been processed. They left without arressting us. One month later the sheriff came and arrested us. We are still in court today, they sent my case to the grand jury and they turned it down, it is looking more and more like my case will be dropped, it wasn’t that strong in the first polace or they would have arrested us on the day of the raid. This one case has cost the county over 50k, because the raid alone cost that, plus it has cost me a lot of money and the experience of getting my mug shot on the front cover of our local newspaper. I am a law abiding citizen with a birth defect. I was born with part of my spine missing. This whole system of making those already suffering to suffer even more is inhumane, oh but then that is the definitiion of governament anyway, isn’t it?

Hi!!! The plant we now know as pot was prophicied in the Holy Bible in Isaiah chap 42 verses 1 – 3 that the Messiah (JESUS) and the last great prophet would smoke pot, the verse reads in part, and the most accurate translation of the Hebrew is the Old Style King James as that is the only modern translation that translated prior to the addition of the vowels to the Hebrew alphabet in 1906 AD and Isaiah 42:3 reads quote “and a bruised reed shall he not brake and the smoking flax shall he not quench till he turn judgement into victory”,,, The Hebrew word for smoking at that particular place means to inhale and includes the word communiting which means to crumble in preparation,,, The Hebrew word for flax at that particular place means linen and what was used for linen in Israel at the time of JESUS as was almost all of the middle east was hemp as the plant that we currently know as flax was a European plant at the time of JESUS,,, The Hebrew word for quench at that particular place has 2 meanings ie to satisfy or to put out, so literally the question was that the Messiah (JESUS) and the last great prophet would either usually smoke pot and for a day or 2 or 3 did not smoke and the question was will they satify again,,, or the question was that the Messiah (JESUS) and the last great prophet regularly smoke so much pot that the question is will they put it out… Well does that mean that the Messiah (JESUS) smoked pot? Well there is a fulfillment of the Isaiah 42:3 prophesy in Matthew chap12 verses 17 – 21 and again only the Old style King James translates it correctly according to old pre Hebrew vowel Hebrew dictionaries and pre-modern Greek dictionaries and Matthew chap12 verse 17 starts quote “that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet” then it quotes Isaiah,,, well if JESUS smoked pot why don’t Christians smoke pot? Because they are brainwashed by the corrupt greedy Sunday worshiping paul (who made 126 errors) worshiping Christian preachers to believe paul who said to not consume mind altering substances when JESUS did consume pot and JESUS said in Matthew chap 10 quote “the disciple is not above his master nor the servant above his Lord, it is enough for the disciple to be as his master and the servant as his Lord” which means since JESUS smoked pot Christians are also supposed to smoke pot, but then those corrupt greedy preachers want everyone to follow paul because paul said the tithe (10% of your increase not your income) goes to the preacher while GOD in the Old Testament said 90% of the tithe is suppossed to go to helping the poor and 10% of the tithe to the preacher and JESUS backed that up, so the preachers out of greed and corruption force paul down peoples throats… Another of pauls 126 errors is paul said he who does not work should not eat”, that is slavery which is what the devil who is whom I believe inspired paul wants, while JESUS said quote “labour not after the food which perisheth but after that food which endureth unto everlasting life, but seek ye first the kingdom of GOD and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you”,,, thats what I did and now I got so much stuff and tools to help other folks that I don’t know what to do with it all,,, also JESUS said in Matthew chap 25 verses 31 – 46 quote “whatsoever you do unto the least of these you do also unto me” and that those who help the poor, even if you do not believe in JESUS and are not a catholic you are saved and that those that do not help the poor including the best pauline Christians will go to hell for eternity!!! One more fact; in the first book of the actual Jewish Kabbalah (the Zohar is a commentary on the Kabbalah as far as I am concerned and the Zohar is riddled with errors) ie Adam’s discourse to Seth it says that that plant we now call pot is GODs substitute for the tree of life for man to use to help man live longer and be healthier etc… Well I guess I have jawed at you enough for now, I hope, I
RAY to GOD and JESUS that these words inspire folks and help those folks to better understand modern day Christians and hopefully help some of those Christians not go to hell for eternity despite how much some of those brainwashed Christians may have hurt us in the past!!!!!! So DEAR FRIENDS!!! GOD and JESUS Bless you if you want it!!!!!! PS: barack obama also is a brainwashed Christian who also admited (I personally saw and heard him say so on Cable TV) to being a muslim… Also I wish the PEACE of JESUS which passeth all understanding unto you also!!!!!! Sabbat Shalom!!! Tim Maine
