Rob Kampia Responds to “Prohibitionist Heckler” Joyce Nalepka
March 16, 2009
MPP Executive Director Rob Kampia responds to off-topic criticisms by drug warrior Joyce Nalepka at a press conference announcing the release of a study called” False Positives Equal False Justice”, which shows the inadequacy of many substance tests commonly used by police as evidence in drug prosecutions. 03/03/2009

The opinions expressed below by our viewers and posters do not necessarily represent the opinions of the Marijuana Policy Project. These views are those of the individual authors alone. MPP does not condone or support the illegal use of marijuana. We do encourage open and frank discussion, but if a comment has been posted that is in some way significantly inappropriate, please e-mail us at socialnetwork@mpp.org to report it. Thank you, and we're looking forward to what you think!

Great Video, Joyce needs to get a dose of compassion in her heart and brain.
I suppose that since her relative died in the World Trade Center, she feels that compassion is no longer a virtue that will be given to those who suffer increadible pain. I hope Joyce one day needs Marijuana and has to publicly say “I made a mistake”. Until then Joyce, I will smoke my medicine thinking of you. God Bless you Joyce.

Joyce contradicts herself…. Prohibition is what is sending money to outsiders such as the Mexican drug cartels or as Joyce says the Afghans. If prohibition ends this would mean that marijuana would be grown in the United States, keeping all the money that is made in our own economy and not in the hands of the “WTC terrorist” who MUST have been marijuana dealers. “marijuana being medicine, nothing could be further from the truth” – Joyce might want to look at some research before she says stupid things… There is plenty of research supporting the use of medical marijuana. Another thing, who is going to let their 5 year old kid grow marijuana. That is just an insane and totally ridiculous argument. If you are going to use that as an argument, a 5 year old can also grow and cultivate their own tobacco also. Joyce, your an idiot.

I agree with Tyler on all counts here. I found myself muttering under my breath,”geez lady let the man speek, and who the heck let you into this conference?” Really, PLEASE tell me how the WTC tragedy had anything to do with ANYTHING concerning the topic at hand. I think I heard her say some stupid **** about how each time we buy pot we’re putting money into Afgahnni terrorist hands. First of all prohibition is what is allowing drug cartels ALL OVER the WORLD to reap the benefits and money of every Tom Dick and Hank that smoks pot. In essence she herself is allowing this to happen by being a closed minded idiot. This woman needs to open her mind a bit and try and understand that regaurdless of what her backwards thinking is there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. When she continued to interupt Rob Kampia it just made me realize what a disrespectful uncompassionate person she was. She clearly came from a generation of “Reefer Madness!” watchers who honestly believed that pot was (the devil) worse than alcohol and more of a gateway drug than the latter. She’s obviously so constipated with her belief that ‘pot is bad, and a gateway drug and when we buy it we support terrorists, there is nothing medical about marijuana’, she can see nothing else but the lies the government spoonfed her as an adolescent (I can only assume she got her facts as an adolescent because it seems to be the case when she is so agrivatingly rude, disrespectful and out right stupid). Maybe Joyce would like it better if we legalized crack, heroine, opium, lsd (all of which can either kill you or damage your brain). Contrary to what this woman would want you to believe THERE IS such a thing as medical Marijuana. Also contrary to what she might want you to believe, there are no scientific facts that state Marijuana has ever killed anyone. How can it even be considered a drug if you can’t overdose on it? Joyce Nalepka, you might be a nice old lady with grandkids but your the dumbest person I have ever heard of. God forbid you get cancer and find out how f-d up it is taking all those medications to find relief ultimately finding that it has the snowball effect- I have to take this for nausea, this for constipation, this to stimulate my appetite, Oh wait, marijuana does all of those, why the hell doesn’t my government let me get a prescription for pot? Oh Yeah, I remember, I’ve been a prohibitionist for the past 20 yrs. This really sucks, now I have to take all these chemically enhanced prescription drugs to find relief which will eventually have an adverse affect on me and eat my liver. – I’m fairly sure that’s how that scenerio would go down. In my opinion, Joyce, I feel sorry for you and your kids and grandkids and all the people you help put behind bars. I feel sorry for every life you have ruined. It is becuase of people like you that we have no one policing the internet to bust child porn rings they’re all out busy busting the misunderstood pot smokers, some of whom only smoke to enhance their quality of life. Here’s an idea, Decriminilize or Legalize marijuana, all the money saved should go to an agency who will seek out and destroy child predators, so your grandchildren and other peoples grandchildren can be safe. That is what safe means to me, maybe you should take a long hard look at your cause and see if mine is more important.

My jaw hit the floor when I saw this video. I am apalled that any one who has 7 grandchildren could be so illinformed and ignorant. Much respect to Rob though I don’t think I dould have kept my cool like he did.

What a rediculus argument by Joyce. How about you teach your children and grandchildren that they’re going to encounter some things in life like drugs that should take some serious thought before partaking. And then let them know that if they decide to use, to be safe about it, and not get in a position where you can hurt someone else.
Joyce, do you realize that a drug dealer on the streets would more than likely gladly sell drugs to your 5 year old…but I’m sure a regulated dispensary of any sort WOULD NOT!
Do us all a favor and please do your research before heckling people that are trying to make us safer and flexing our rights as American citizens.
Tax and Regulate Joyce, then your “Afghan pot dealing terrorists” won’t have OUR money to attack us.

I agree with all in favor of making people like Joyce Nalepka look like the uninformed idiots they really are. As far as Medical marijuana being a farce or whatever – I PRAY that GOD IN HEAVEN gives her the worst form of pancreatic cancer that a person could get and she has to go through numerous Chemo treatments. She should be made to stay at a Chemo treatment center for a week and have her see clinical experiments that reaffirm that Medical Marijuana is indeed very real and very useful.
What’s up with the dude wanting our real names – man you better explain yourself- or you’re a cop and go fish somewhere else. Someday you’ll be out of a job…LEGALLY.
By Joyce’s own argument she reaffirms the need to regulate and tax marijuana even though she’s full of the hottest of air.
I WISH Rob would have turned briefly and told her that…and then asked her to name each of her grandkids and their birthdays. I’ll bet you my last buck she spends so much time campaigning to ruin lives that she’s out of touch with her own family. That would have shut her up and he would have definitely got in the last word. Next time Rob…PLEASE…never let a heckler get the last word…BUT GREAT Job on composure! I am soooooo damned sick of their same ole’ B.S. Damn, you need a moon suit to wade through that toxic waste. Anslinger, Nixon, Ronald and Nancy Reagan and Joyce NeedalifeKa -I hope you all roast in HELL! You’ve helped to ruin my life along with millions of peaceful and intelligent person’s lives.

RETRACTION- I was very ill from Multiple Sclerosis last night when I wrote that. I really do not wish anyone would roast in hell. I just wish that everyone would see the Light concerning Medical Marijuana. Who do I hurt when I try to get some relief from a very painful and nauseating disease like MS by smoking a bowl of tasty weed? That’s why we need the MPP and sane, rational and longsuffering people like Rob Kampia and Aaron Houston to fight the fight for some of us. Sorry, Christian pot smokers out there ( Gen.1:11) I wasn’t a good example. It’s just so infuriating to be told lies as the truth by people who have absolutely no first hand knowledge of the issue itself. I KNOW it works! She’s repeating 40 year old lies. Peace -

Hello Tom, I also like whenever possible to be as Christ-like as possible. I do know, unfortunately, that evil laws exit that suit the needs or wants of the very few instead of the many. It is the responsible American that fights evil and unjust laws like slavery and denial of freedoms that hurt no one. The people that vigorously perpetuate lies are evil in my mind and deserve no respect or pity. They need to be educated with an open mind. “Joyce has been, as Rob Kampia said in the video, responsible for perpetuating a policy that incarcerated, harassed and helped ruin the lives of over 100 million Americans in the last 25 years” (something like that) I haven’t seen the video in a few days… That’s some serious damage to mostly decent taxpaying, hard working and struggling American’s who hurt no one.
Also, anytime I can make someone’s weekend (I’m not sure why- It was a bit harsh) then let it be! Kimberly. LOL
If you would like to see a Respected Circuit Court Judge, The Honorable Jim Gray share his thoughts on Marijuana Legalization then please look at this link I found from another gentleman here. http://digg.com/d1nmlS Sanity is music to my ears.
I wonder what Joyce would say to him???…on second thought…no, I don’t really care.
He’s the wise one. She’s needs education, compassion and a good dose of empathy through some horribly nauseating disease. REALLY or a battle with Cancer – a few Chemo treatments and I guess that’s the only real way she could know. She may need it, but I do not wish it on her in order for her to understand. She also might be so stubborn that even if she’s vomiting blood which is common with Chemo, that she probably still would refuse it. It’s so sad. In that deep brainwashing to THAT degree, I would feel sorry for her. OPEN YOUR MIND JOYCE! OPEN YOUR MIND! Marijuana has been real medicine for thousands of years.

THIS WOMAN FITS MY DESCRIPTION OF THE MOST DANGEROUS CREATURE THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN–SOMEONE WHO THINKS THEY KNOW WHAT IS BETTER FOR YOU THAN YOU DO, AND HAS THE POWER TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT INCLINATION, PARTICULARLY IF THEY MEAN WELL AND JUST WANT TO HELP. PLEASE NOTE HITLER FITS THIS DESCRIPTION AS WELL. I SUGGEST THIS WOMAN DO TWO THINGS–READ THE CONSTITUTION AND MIND HER OWN BUSINESS. NO ONE IS TRYING TO GET HER TO CONSUME ANY DRUGS EVER, IT IS SHE WHO WANTS TO RUN OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES.

The problem is, she has more pull with some congressperson than all of us have with our own congressperson. I would like to attend the next anti drug conference and ask her about the 800,000americans who suffer the most due to our govt’ stupidity. the fathers who are jailed due these laws. she needs a hobby.

Joyce makes me angry as she does not listen to the opinions of others and has her views set in stone. It is this mentality that makes any kind of social change very hard to achieve. She believes her view is the only correct one and that everyone who differs in opinion is incorrect, which means that in her eyes that it is her job to correct them. Her comment about the world trade center is a fallacy of appeal to fear of terrorists and an attempt to use the patriotic feelings of standing up to the people responsible for 9/11 to support her PERSONAL OPINION. Not only is this statement a shameful use of propoganda, but there is no evidence to support her outrageous claim.
Joyce, people like you should discuss your PERSONAL OPINIONS at places appropriate to your stance on the subject. Please go hold your own confrences and notice that we will not send our supporters to heckle you. The only reason that you show up where you are not welcome is to get your PERSONAL OPINIONS heard, because you and I both know that otherwise nobody listens to your close minded ignorance.
P.S. those that lost their lives on 9/11 probably wouldnt take kindly to you hiding behind their bravery.

THINK OF THE GRANDCHILDREN!!! They might die from marijuana somehow!! I just made up the fact that you guys want 5 year olds to smoke it! It feels so good to blame all of the problems in my life to marijuana, because its so harmful, even though it really isn’t.

Like everyone else said it would take money out of the drug dealers hands and put that money into our government… Rob Kampia should have responded to Joyce after the afgani comment that billions of people depend on gasolene for our vehicles and a ton of that money supports terrorism but we will never ban gasoline… maybe my facts arent right in saying that Terrorists make money on Heroine not Marijuana and the mexican drug cartels do make money on it but there more into prescription drugs right now which is a rising epidemic

F*** Joyce
It was very stupid when Joyce made her last comment. She talked about how she lost a relative in the WTC bombing, and everone who has smoked a joint is putting money in the hands of “Afghani” traffickers, and dealers. Okay, first off FAUK you Joyce. Second marijuana dosen’t only come from Afghanistan dumb bitch! Third Joyce is a steriotyping bitch. Not all Afghans are terrorists. Time to pull out the carbine, and do a driveby. Haha, jk… or am i? Nah i am joking about the last part…

I could tell Rob was restraining himself mightily from leaping over the podium and strangling her. The fact that people like this are given a respected voice in this country makes me physically ill. Joyce – as a proud and moral atheist, I do not believe in hell. However, you certainly seem like a prime candidate for it. For the record, I hope that you go to hell, and that you be forced to watch from under the earth as all of your loved ones suffer because of the cause you so erroneously championed in life. Meanwhile, I will happily puff my spliffs in the privacy of my own home and wait patiently for the day when I may do so within the visual radius of a police officer. Peace!

How ironic that this Joyce Nalepka blames the 9/11-WTC attacks on pot smokers!! When in fact it was her precious “god”-loving Vice President Cheney who allowed the attacks to occur, and probably even arranged the attacks.
I hope Joyce Nalepka suffers the consequences of her actions in my lifetime, so I can watch and know.
Terrorism only exists because people like Joyce Nalepka exist, and tend to hold federal office.

Hey Rob, You make us local yokels very proud. Keep up the great work!!!!
Joyce you need to get a clue, either educate yourself to know the right knowledge or go back and bump your head a few more times cuz your new. We have enough puppets in politics. We need educated individuals who know how to use their minds representing us. A lack of education creates ignorance, ignorance creates fear. When it comes to this scenario Joyce has no clue what she says. She is creating a false panic over something thats useful. Its like taking your car to a butcher to be fixed. Its stupid and you wouldnt do it. Neither should you get your facts from Joyce. While her intentions may be sincere, they are severely misguided. You should concentrate on the bad drugs Joyce (meth, heroine, coke) leave the good ones alone. There are eggs in a cake and eggs in an omelet but you wouldnt prepare them the same way, would you? Neither should marijuana be dealt with the same as the bad drugs. Do everyone a favor and educate yourself before preaching. Otherwise keep your mouth closed. When you open your mouth you prove everytime just how uneducated you are about this. While i do believe marijuana needs to be decriminalized and made legal, i worry, will we be going from the frying pan to the fire? Who will be in charge of it? Will it be others like Joyce who have not a clue what they say? Will it be the Dept. of Agriculture since its grown or the FDA, or the ATF? No matter who in the government oversees it, its a scary concept. I think Rob should be in charge. He is a highly intelligent individual. You are the man i would trust. xo<3xo

Wow. That women really needs to read up on her facts and stop being stubborn. MArijuana is not dangerous, it is OBVIOUSLY an amazing medicine, one that is increasingly being shown to cure CANCER!!! Yes cancer, there are quite a few studies that show this. She is also being very hypocritical. “every time you smoke a joint you are giving money to terrorists”. This is because it is illegal. Think! They wouldn’t profit off marijuana if it was legal just like they don’t profit off alcohol or tobacco. I really hate people like her.

Drug testing is, how do I say it, A very hot topic. Why because it invades peoples personal freedoms on a personal level. Passing a drug test is something no one want to deal with, user or not. This is really the issue to push to the job seeking public. Pee in a cup and pray.
