  1. Thank you folks for being real. As one in the video said he is a child of the sixties and was expecting legalization any day and yet thirty years, or let me say forty years, later we are still waiting. Sometimes I see the illegality as a corporate flag of control; as long as they can pull this absurdity off and keep pot illegal they figure they can do anything. Whether you lean right or left lets smoke a peace pipe and kick this yoke and use our resources to work on real problems and make our world a better place.

Hey MMP, I am 19 years old and the first legal Medicinal Marijuana Patient in Michigan. This high honor has made me local celebrity with smokers, politicians and especially law enforcement. Any way I can purchase tickets to this incredible party?

I am from New York and I have althritis. I would like to attend this event but I am only 18. I support you 100% because one day I hope I can walk into a store in new York and buy medical Maraijuana. You guys have my email so if I can attend this event please let me know.

The only reason I can see why pots not legalised because the Phramaceutical
companies of this country have to much power. They would loose billions in
money because of all the drugs that people wouldn’t need. I feel that it will never be legal in Massachusetts because of all the Phramacoutical companies
in this state. I was amazed that they finally decriminalised pot in this state
but there are still some bugs they have to work out of the law.
If this country would only open there eyes and legalise pot and tax it they could wipe out the national dept.

It could not have been said any better. However President Obama promised to stop the raids on medical marijuana patients and their suppliers, but how can he keep that promise, if the Marijuana prohibition laws are still in effect within the books, which give the D.E.A. goons the right by that law to raid medical marijuana patients, at their desecration.

Anyone who ever smoked Marijuana knows that this plant is a holy plant and when used responsibly they become aware of the different gifts within its properties. As such one can appreciate channeling those properties appropriately to their benefit and actually needs.

Just to show you how middle class America is so brain washed by the general consensus of over the years anti marijuana propaganda lies, that I spoke to one of neighbors about ending marijuana prohibition and I listened to what he had to say against it and time and time again I had to correct his thinking with the actual facts, which he was not aware of. I had a very difficult time in trying to convince him of the truth even as I prove it to him with Medical research articles.

One more thing, we can not just end Marijuana Prohibition without having to first correct the lies about it and educate the public and it users on how to respect this plant’s gifts. Rules or principles of its proper use and not abuse should be drawn out and put into law, so if any individual violates it that individual will be severely fined or incarcerated.

This plant is not to be worshiped, but revered as sacred onto God who created it and gave it to mankind within love for a time of peace and rest from the stresses of this world.

As someone who spent more than a decade caring for my beloved Grandmother following her stroke I can attest to the exorbitant expense of pharmaceuticals — esp. those that stimulate appetite.

Medical marijuana could have helped her so much more effectively and cheaply! She has passed on now and is no longer suffering and I pray that no one else will have to endure such pain and wasting when it could so easily be prevented.

I’ve been a MPP member since 2002. They paid my registration fees here in Montana.back in 2004 due to other supporters so I support them 100% and truely believe they are on the right track.I’ve used Marijuanna for the past 42 years the past 10 for medical reasons and I’m healthy as a horse but my back is toast from years as a mechanic.I’ve been able to maintain the same opiate dosage for the past 7 years and owe it all to medical marijuanna. My Dr. has been blown away at the results I’ve gotten from my home grown medicine. It truely needs to be legal not only for our medical needs but for anyone over 18 and allow the ability to grow enough for personal needs nation wide. I’m a product of the 60’s myself and also believed it would have been legal long before now.Maybe the snail can now see the finish line with the stigma of Marijuanna … peace , Dr, G.

Well, first of all you guys are doing a bang up job getting these issues on
the initiatives and also passing. I’ve contributed to this end and will continue. It’s
a benefit to all except for the ignorance and disappointment of the police
and some government agencies. Soon it will have passed in at least 50% of all states (What is the number that has to pass in order for a majority to over
come federal resistance and dogma?). It is to this end that I am writing
about. Recently, a medical dispensary in San Francisco was invaded with no over-site or explanation in a gestapo-type raid! This is preposterous and
probably unconstitutional as well. Where are the lawmakers? Where are the attorney’s hiding when this is a major victory for health & well being of the
populous? Another division of this should be developed to monitor the feds
from exercising their misguided operations. This is an assault on basic freedoms and if it’s not corrected could lead to losing the vote in other
potential states from agreeing in the direction of medical hemp approval
and people just plain afraid to get involved. YOU MUST STOP THE HARASSMENT IF YOU WANT MORE $$ TO SUPPORT YOUR EFFORTS
    Go get em’ boys! S.

I agree wholeheartedly with the legalization/decriminalization movement but I question MPP’s hosting of a party at the playboy mansion.

Although I mean no disrespect to Playboy, I wonder if an association with the pornography industry is constructive in our efforts get the word out about the reasoned benefits of legal marijuana. The people who’s minds we need to change in order to achieve our legalization goals would love an excuse to continue associating the marijuana movement with that of other “sinister” vices. Therefore, if we want our movement to be seen as legitimate and rationally thought out, we are likely better off not publicly associating with other industries society currently views as taboo.

If, however, the Playboy party is a can’t miss opportunity to fundraise, than lets keep it going. But, do we really need to broadcast it on the front page of mpp.org for weeks at a time?

  11. Jim

Unfortunately we live in a culture where if celebrities do it, it must be OK. Even more than OK, it is the thing to do. I though it was ironic that the fundraiser was held at the Playboy Mansion because the marijuana movement needs to do exactly what Playboy has done. (when Playboy first came out it was considered pornography) but now Hugh and his girlfriends have a show on basic cable. He made his magazine “socially acceptable”, even cool. If marijuana can become “socially acceptable” in this society, then that will make it accessible to everyone who needs it. As a marketing person, it is not a mistake to have this event at the Playboy Mansion. And if it raises a lot of money for the cause, it’s an even better decision.

  12. Mata

No one has mentioned that it’s ridiculously expensive to be a consumer these days. The days of the $12 ‘lid’ are waaay over! I would love to grow my own supply–just my own! as we do with tomatoes–but that’s not one of our American freedoms, apparently.

I really want to see pot decriminalized and easily (meaning publicly and inexpensively) available to persons over the age of ___ (I say 18) and to medical patients as well as anyone else who wants it. I have several (medical) things wrong with me, not the least of which is that I am recovering from cancer, and the side-effects of the drug I’m taking are pretty devastating to me. I don’t know whether pot makes those symptoms better or just makes it easier for me to live with them–but whichever way around, I’ll take it!

I wish you the best of luck with our quest. I have a few issues with Playboy (pun!), but I think they’re on the right track here, and I appreciate the magazine throwing its weight around. It’s SO futile to spend so much time, effort, and money on curtailing a naturally occurring substance (in other words, a gift from nature) that was demonized almost single-handedly by William Randolph Hearst to be the most vile of substances. (And to think that he–a man with no real educational or scientific background whatsoever–suddenly discovered its hideous danger to Youth after it had been in use with virtually no effect for millenia!! Incredible!)

Wouldn’t it be interesting if tomorrow President Obama called a press conference and explained that the war on marijuana was over and that we had won (Americans need to hear that–shoot, if you tell us that, we’ll believe anything!). He continues to say that, as of now, it is no longer illegal to possess it, smoke it, sell it, grow it, or gaze fondly at it. Then he delineates the money it will save the Federal and State governments in the following month. The prisons suddenly aren’t overcrowded anymore. People doing time for smoking an innocuous week are free to return to their homes and families. So what if they go back to selling it? It won’t be illegal anymore, and they will be exactly what they were before–productive citizens of their towns–only now they will be contributing to society by paying taxes on selling it. Then he’ll explain how it will also virtually choke the deadly marijuana cartels (which we created with out prohibition laws) in other countries and run them out of our country. It can go on and on….

Enough preaching to the choir! Go, MPP!!!

  13. Mata

    Innocuous WEED. Sheesh.

  14. Ashley

This is probably WHY legalization has not been passed, you are associating the PLAYBOY mansion with MARIJUANA. What is wrong with you people, you pretty much are associating high class trash with something that has healing power. This is the first i have ever heard of this mansion party, im all for the medical use and im all for the playboy mansion to each his own, however i see why many states choose to stay away from issue. Why dont you actually go some place that has ANYTHING to do with WHY marijuana needs to be legalized. Really? what does it relieve the pain from the plastic surgery? I laugh at this. Rediculous.

  15. Will S.

I do agree that this may not be the most appropriate venue to get ‘the message’ out about decriminalization/legalization of medical and recreational Cannabis use, but I do not think that the underlying goal wasn’t accomplished. Vital capital was raised, money that will probably be used to appropriately lobby and push for Cannabis reform. Getting some semi-influential celebrities with deep pockets couldn’t hurt the cause either. Keep up the good work MPP!

  16. Hey everyone, its 2009 lets get gang legalized!!!!!!!! im kellin from After death Emergency Room. Check out our debut album and single “FUCK YOUR NO SMOKING SIGN” Buy songs from our page!

    http://www.myspace.com/afterdeathemergencyroom

please legalize my green green eyes!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Jolie

HMMM……….. IF ADRIENNE’S mom’s friend has L-U-N-G CANCER, wouldn’t SMOKING pot HARM her???

  18. This is a issue i definatly support.
I think it’s time America grew a brain, and we get together and take this country back. Another point i’d like to make that they didnt not mention, is The Anti-pot Commercials on television, are always directed toward young teenagers. I agree with the fact no one should be smoking pot if they are not responsible with it, that would usually be young teenagers, But what about us adults? Can a person of legal age, that is a responsible person not smoke in the home? I agree that is absoulutly ridculous, I grew up in a home with alcholics and Meth-heads, I can definatly agree with what the man said about it being common knowledge that MARIJUANA, is unharmful to the conpared. And The fact that they are at the playboy mansion((@ASHLEY APRIL 28TH)) having a fun time, is irrelivant to the cause.

  19. Kyle

    Weed stimulates the economy!
    Think about it.
Someone grows a plant/buys (grows for free or buys).
    Sells to someone else.
The seller now has money to buy.
The buyer smokes and gets the munchies.
Soon after the consumer goes to the store/restaurant to eat/pick up some goodies.
The consumer is happy, the seller is happy, and the store/restaurant gets more business.
In the case that the consumer shares with friends, the store/restaurant gets even more business.

Although some people will not like the location, I have to thank Hugh Heffner and the entire Playboy family for hosting this event. Playboy has always stressed Freedom to do something increadible, which is to love. Even if it is very naughty, I have to say that the creator in his wisdom gave us permission to be naughty and take the consequences. He gave us this right, and politicians have slapped God in the face, and are not content with burning in Hell for that alone, you see persecuting us is just more gasoline on the fire for these men who neither fear God or Man. These people delude themselves thinking that they can escape Heavens Judge. God please give them the same mercy that they are giving us Please!!!!

I can not spend 500 dollers for a top line vaporizer. Till then I choose to smoke my one hitter, 5 dollers. Canabis pills cost 900 dollers a month. 2 ounces of nug 800 dollers. Home grown nugs, less than 40 dollers an ounce to grow.

A party at the Playboy mansion is so opposite of progressive, I can’t even believe this got off the ground.

Wake up everyone, “WE THE PEOPLE” are no longer in power. Nor have we arguably ever been. There is an undoubtedly agreed upon view pertaining to this topic (marijuana), yet for some awful reason we are still unable to solidify it’s legitimacy into a “Law”. Why is that? Could it be that those that we have (so-called) chosen to represent us have been given too much power? So much power that they are now a counterproductive force that must now be overcome before “We The People” can even do what is right for ourselves. Not as a nation, but as human beings.

There are good politicians and there are bad politicians, (morally), and I am not chastising the government. WE have created the proverbial bed that we now lie in, WE have allowed our elected officials to rise to such levels as to no longer hear the faint cry’s of the citizens. Ourselves, we WERE the problem. But NOW, now that we are beginning to evolve from the mass ignorance that is undoubtedly our past, we have a new enemy. And that enemy is the menacing coagulation of corporate influenced politicians, corporate media and the never ending hierarchy of the super wealthy.

Please, don’t just open your eyes, open your mind. Ignorance is the downfall of any society. Research information, question those who decide for you and voice your opinion. We have given ourselves one of the greatest means of communication, the internet. USE IT! If you question facts given to you on marijuana, then research them. Think of where we might be today if we had the luxury of the endless knowledge that we have now, just 70-80 years ago. The anti-marijuana propaganda of the past would never have survived, it would have been de-bunked the moment that first DuPont backed drug czar started spewing his corporate mandated nonsense.

Don’t just be another census number, or ballot. Think for yourself.

What does legalizing pot have to do with the playboy mansion? Are a bunch of bubbleheads really the way to get people to take this cause seriously? Whats next, have Kendra be the spokesperson?
