D.A. and S.A. I was a student at FSU from 1966 until 1972 and had experience with the Tallahassee authorities, all of which was bad. The local government would take good-ole-boys from Sopchopee and other rural, conservative towns in the panhandle and after a few days training, give them a .38 and a uniform and turn them loose to enforce drugs laws. Young, male FSU students with long hair were a particularly easy target since these GOBs knew they were all anti-American (actually anti-war) hippie types who were getting laid more often then they and who smoked dope and railed against the establishment.
