Robin Prosser was a former concert pianist and systems analyst who suffered from an autoimmune disease similar to lupus for over 20 years. The disease left her in constant pain and made her allergic to most pharmaceutical painkillers. Only medical marijuana brought her relief, but the DEA seized her medicine. Unable to cope with the chronic pain any longer, she committed suicide on October 18th, 2007.

Sad, but true: the Big Brother Federal Government was the proximate cause of this tragedy. They are LIABLE, not only here, but in other cases and places as well.
Do we really want our country’s leaders to make us into accomplices and accessories to genocide in Mexico, Colombia, and Montana, so that the drug wars can profit and employ so many ? ? Do you want your tax dollar to do this ?
These are crimes against humanity. They admittedly call it the drug ‘war’. Someday they may find themselves on trial as war criminals for the lives they’ve indirectly (or directly, as in Robin’s case) taken, smashed, and destroyed. They are too often just as bad as the drug cartels and big-time criminals.
DEA & US Attorney: Please go after crack and methamphetamine and leave medical patients and cannabis alone.

This is yet another great example of why the war on drugs should not involve marijuna. It should be de-criminalized and regulated. Beer causes more problems in our society than all the drugs listed by the dea. Yet any teenager can get beer it’s not locked up. I will keep planting seeds. Seeds of acceptance in all the youth I meet. Eventually the youth will win and they will Be abolishing laws not making them. I got pulled over by the cops in costa mesa three times this month on my bicycle just for how I look. I had nothing on me, and I broke no laws. Police enforcement is out of control the citys are feeding off of it’s citizens like sharks. It’s a wonder that the government is so broke because theyTake about 4000.00 from me every year in bull crap citations and fines. Then to fight it you have to pay the fine first? what is the deal?

Everyday the US government puts there tenticals deeper and deeper into citizen’s lives. More and more they try to control our lives as if we need “saving”. What we need to be saved from is the Government of the US itself! This poor woman cannot recieve medicine that WORKS for her and then for the “drug czar” to sit there and say its addictive and dangerous is a ludacris statement. If the man had any common sence he would educate himself on the subject with the FACTS. Our government is only conserned about what is good for THEM, NOT what is good for the people and they will act with the same criminal response as do the drug cartels and organized crime organization do when they are attacked. In my eyes the US government should be ashamed of themselves and get thier own house in order before they dictate how others should live.

The whole situation is so sad and US marijuana policy is despicable. I offer condolenses to Robin’s family and friends for their loss.
One very perverse, sad fact is that most US citizens have no idea why we have this anti-marijuana policy. “Reefer madness” & prohibition were started by special interest groups (oil & timber) in the 1930’s to kill the hemp industry, which was poised to become a major raw material for paper and cellulose plastic. It was already a major raw material for fiber, and cannibis was the 2nd most widely prescribed “drug” by physicians. Were we to legalize hemp (non-psychoactive marijuana), we could save our environment and add $4 trillion to our economy. ha what really caught me were two things:
1.”we’re kind of protecting people from their own state law. ok,if damn near every person in Washington constantly barks on and on about state’s rights, then why would a government agency come out and publicly disregard state law. I guess they only care if it gets them what they want.
2.give me liberty or give me death. that sort of sums up the ongoing war on pot. its like the revolution: America was breaking a very important law,treason, and faced great opposition. today, we are breaking the law also, and many of us believe so steadfast in our right to use cannabis that we would die for it

It is hard to believe that this system has poured so many of its’ victims’ on society, and not tried to help them. I cannot bear the ignorance much longer, I am voting this year strictly on pot issues, ending the superficial “drug war’ when I know that without pot, many poor families could not feed their families, as the system forces this issue to fester. The time is past for throwing your vote away based on some fearmongering politicians. We have been singled out as not equal to but rather less than all other Americans. Any religious idiot preaching ‘Faith is the Answer’ from the political pulpit has to be dealt with swiftly and harshly.
If rational people ridiculed such irrational ignorance at every opportunity perhaps we could element the religiously infected from making public policies that violate the constitution and our rights. Time to stop tolerating intolerant religion!
Furthermore, the Dumb Evil Assholes, tasked with the crime of alienating us from our inalienable rights, need to be identified, and purged from society, so we can get on with the process of creating an egalitarian society… which will make the purveyors of gods and governments less equal… the root of their evil… and that’s were the real danger lies.
Remember, ‘it is not the strength of their truth.. but the truth of their strength’ that endangers every rational american. Why bother trying to have a rational debate with highly irrational people whose minds have been diseased by ’schism gism’… the result of decades of god fucking them in one earhole while uncle scam fucks them in the other? This disgusting mass of gism gumming up their pathetic minds is a dangerous and deadly social narcotic… the drug of choice for these deviantly delusional dimwits?
Remember these sick puppies are the ‘Crackheads of Christianity’ and we should never turn a blind eye to them. And don’t even pretend you believe in the ‘eye for an eye’ crap they are selling…. in war it’s always ‘a head for an eye’… never give your enemy, of superior numbers and technology, a chance to fight another day… when they threaten you… kill them as quickly and efficiently as possible… preferably where they live… and don’t concern yourself with colateral damage too much… they sure as fuck don’t!
Simply put when a prohibitionist tries to kill or incarcerate you… you have the right of ‘pre-emptive self-defense’ and should always attempt to kill or incarcerate them first. Don’t wait for them to roll-up on your ranch… take-em out where they don’t expect it…. remembering that they have labeled you an enemy combatant worthy of death or imprisonment! Trust me… a surprise ambush by a couple well trained militiamen could eliminate the entire counties narco sqad and swat team in one easy afternoon…. in bush we used to call it SS for ’sniping shitheads’.
And remember when you are dealing with constitutional criminals and the millions of religious fundamentalists responsible for our longest running war in american history (the 2nd Drug War… which immediately followed the failure of the 1st Drug War… against Alcohol upon it’s repeal in 1933) you should always be aware that they wish to kill or incarcerate you for daring to disagree with their stupidity, arrogance, and ignorance!
Honestly we should just kill them all and let their asshole deity sort them out! I’m quite sure most of these fucks are destined for hell anyway and will become satans personal cock sucker and asshole cleaner… the perfect job for religious assholes and prohibitionists!
In fact this will be the premise of my next book. A team of ex naval special ops guys, highly trained and proficient in the art of assassination and kidnapping during the cold war, get ‘tugged’ into the drug war… and demonstrate to the prohibitionists and drug warriors what fighting and killing your enemy during war is supposed to look like. The opening chapter will deal with the ‘vanishing’ of a federal judge responsible for the slow strangulation death of a paraplegic that she sentenced to prison for being unrepentant and defiant of her fucked up religious-woven judicial logic. Whether the murderess lives or dies… assuming she survives the intense interrogations… will be determined by military tribunal. Military tribunals, especially those conducted in the field, or at sea, are swift… and if capital punishment is the judgment… it’s usually carried out on the spot… with no fanfare… you slit the throat from behind (it helps keep the warm spurty stuff off of you) remembering to slice deep enough to sever the vocal cords, a gurgling, drowning sound, not screaming is the desired effect.. then let the wolves, or sharks, clean up the gore. But, for those too squeamish for real war, don’t despair we won’t kill everyone… that would be too easy, safe, and simple. No, this crew of intrepid soldier/sailors are also merchant mariners, home ported in Seattle, and making a legitimate living running barges of fuel and supplies up and down the western seaboard… especially Alaska. Who would have guessed that one of our barges was converted to a prison barge and ‘huge grow op’… and yes we’ll have prison labor to supervise… and disciple swiftly and harshly when required. The closing chapter of an unrepentant former Drug Czar fighting off hungry polar bears on an ice flow in the Bering Sea is simply sublime!

Patients who could benefit from medical marijuana are getting caught in the legalization war between the government and people like you who are trying to legalize marijuana for recreational purposes. You do not care as much for patients as you do for your own recreational use. If you did not exist then the patients would likely have their medicine legalized. We can thank Senator Joseph Biden for much of this disaster. He has shamelessly used the criminalization of cannabis to get votes. He is one of our most senior drug warriors. He helped create the laws which allow for asset seizures. He helped create the paraphrenalia laws which often make it more of an offense to use paraphrenalia than the cannabis itself. He helped fashion the ONDCP and coined the term ‘Drug Czar’. All of which he is proud of. What is a man who professes to being a Democrat doing giving our nation any kind of Czar? Monarchy is exactly what this nation fought against for it’s liberty. If anyone thinks that OBAMA/BIDEN will get rid of cannabis prohibition or support States rights, they are deluding themselves. These men are for bigger Federal Government. Getting rid of the ONDCP/DEA/NIDA, or even cutting their budgets would reduce government. But, I’m sure there are some apologists who can explain how I’m mistaken about Obama/Biden and the facts.

It is God’s love that is important in the use of His holy plant Marijuana. The demonic forces that be within our government’s negative and hatred propaganda against marijuana, is not for their concern in the safety of the general public, but for the abuse of their dictatorship power hidden within the ranks of their high society, of false purity.
They are the ones who for the sake of progress advocate that a mind is a terrible thing to loose, but are killing the educated in wars, and the educated are draining the resources and the killing of our planet in turn, with their new inventions. They have created crime from Marijuana where there was no crime. They have made Marijuana lucrative to violent criminals, where once only peace loving people handled the plant. They now have created a Marijuana Cartel to compare it to the Cartel of seriously dangerous drugs.
I have one thing to say to all of you who have taken part in this lynch mob and witch hunt of marijuana sympathizers and users, and that is God’s vengeance is coming and that is something that they will not be able to legislate against. I patiently wait for the day, but also pray that I will not be around to see God’s fury. Stop this Marijuana condemnation; for the so call power that you think you have, is a test of how well you amend your past failures. It seems that you are failing again. One only has to look at the twins towers disaster, the oil spills and the warming of our plant, the Iraq War, the global financial crisis and those things that have been hidden from the public eye. Are you all blind? Are you now going to find a way to blame these things to the Marijuana users, just like you blame the past gay community for the catastrophes of the past. I have one more thing to say to those that read the story of Robin Prosser, please pray for her soul to be with God in heaven, and that through the repentance of those who have been condemning within their self righteous judgment the loving use of Marijuana that God will forgive them also.

Addiction and enjoyment are two different things. It is very possible to hate something one is addicted to. I hated smoking back when I smoked but I was still very much addicted to cigarettes.
I don’t feel a need for it in my life but there are some members of my family that find it useful and not just for enjoyment. What if some people do use it for enjoyment. As long as they do not drive under the influence, who are they hurting? Unlike alcohol, marijuana does not make people violent. Let’s legalize it, tax it and regulate it. That could put a serious dent in the deficit. Most marijuana users are good and willing workers and work at legitimate jobs. What good does it do to put willing workers in jail so we have to support them with our tax dollars. What about all the resources, including lives, that are wasted on this war on marijuana or should I say war on society.

The studies are already there. If you read Jack Herer’s “The Emperor Wears No Clothes”, or virtually any book on the war on drugs, you will find that there are numerous studies, even studies financed by the government, that prove either the validity of medical marijuana or the facetiousness of criminalizing marijuana. The government simply doesn’t listen. All the evidence in the world is there, but they have different priorities.
To those advocating taxation: marijuana’s yield to investment ratio is so high that taxation wouldn’t work. In NYC you have people offering black market cigarettes bought in Virginia due to the high taxes. Because marijuana is so efficient and easy to cultivate, growing wild all across north America (to say nothing of hydroponic and home growing techniques) the government really has no control over it. Look at how pervasive marijuana is now, imagine if it was legalized. It could not be taxed. The government has no interest in legalizing it if it can’t be taxed. I wish you could legalize, tax and regulate, and it may be possible to regulate it but for the most part, people aren’t going to pay the tax.

That is an upsetting thing to watch.
I hope the drug czar someday understands his role in her pain and death. The DEA was out of line to step inbetween a medical patient and the medicine that worked for her; and to ignore the will of the people in the state of Montana: in doing so.
I have heard the argument before; once in an interview on the radio- with a doctor studying the medical effects of marijuana on glaucoma. The good doctor said that while the marijuana did work; it did not- without the side effect of making the patient: ‘feel good’. And here the drug Czar says the same thing; that a medicine should not make a person- ‘feel good’.
There is a belief among real right wing religious groups; that pain is punishment from God; and I can tell you as a hospice volunteer; that many people refuse medication for pain- because they feel that the pain is from God.
Yet studies have shown; that people given pain medication helps people get better faster – over people not taking pain medication.
If someoone like the drug Czar and others feel that pain is a duty; and feel that feeling good is evil- if it comes from medicine- then they should refuse those medications.
But to impose that belief on others is to me- denying others their freedom of religion. Their belief is that God wants them to have relief from pain; and that feeling good: is better than feeling bad.
I am surprised that the government has not ordered medical marijuana patients to paint a star on their door; as the Nazis ordered the Jewish people to do.
I really honestly see no difference between the attitude of the DEA and the attitude of the Nazis.
Liberty is the freedom from pompiety. It is living without those that are so pompous in their beliefs that they impose it on others– despite the pain and suffering and deaths it causes.
This – sadly is an example of just that.

Now that the narcophobe war machine is beginning to break, let us not forgot to help the victims of this insane persecution. Do not let the narcophobe policy makers get away without compensating those that were horribly abused by this insane mindset. We need to help get these victim’s live back. Though many will never get what they lost, like reputation, jobs, freedoms and even some of their marriages and families back, they need to be compensated for the losses and emotion and physical damages caused by the collateral damage. Those that actively supported this nazi style war machine need to be accountable by being sued and maybe even serve jail time. We need to really put the hammer down on these people so political leaders and their policy and law makers will pay attention to the details and impacts of their decisions. Our policy and law makers need to serve us rather than some ambiguous value system that cause far more harm than good.
Political decisions need to be based on their purpose and need. Not wantonly imposed without regard to their impacts. Engineering social order needs to be based on real facts and purpose. They need to be set up in a way as to be modified and/or repealed to prevent harmful mistake from occurring.
Everyone makes mistakes. Even Gov’ts. That’s fine. However when the same mistake is made over and over again and again, year after year, plus knowing better when the facts dictate change, it become criminal. Criminal negligence.
Our law and policy makers are paid and supposedly educated to do their job correctly. Policy and law makers need to do their “homework” and pay strict attention to the details and impacts of the affects their decisions do on to our society.
We really need to sue and enforce compensation and real justice for the horrible abuses of many laws and policies. Yes, it will be expensive but the “punishment” does fit the political crime. A lot of narcophobe policy makers will “suffer” but then they need to feel and see the damage and harm they cause to prevent future leaders, law and policy makers from doing the same harm.

I feel so bad for the loved ones of Robin that are left here in these United States..may you all find some sort of peace. Then I feel so frigging angry about the ‘MAN” taking away her medication…who do they think they are? may they all be given their ‘karma’ in more ways then we can imagine.I too need marijuana to live..but i live in the MOST backasswards state their is Alabama….so we all know this is dangerous for me to obtain my medication without fear of going to jail. I started thinking when I read about Robin..is this whats going to happen to me in the future..or worse..I end up in jail?
Makes no sense..none..its a plant with the abilities to heal…give mother nature a break already or SHE will come back on you with a terrible vengenace.

i myself also use medical marijuana for osteoarthritis in my hip because of a gun shot wound that shattered my ball joint in my femur i get 120 10/500 vicodin and 90 soma a month the medication makes me itch and is far more potent why cant i get marijuana legally in texas close minded republicans i guess, they would rather see me addicted to narcotics than smoking marijuana who’s the real criminal?

What the Government did to Robin is unforgivable. We are fighting for the legalization of medical cannabis in illinois. We are up against the power and money of the pharmacuetical companies. The outright lies from the drug czar. And the limitless power of the DEA, In States where it’s legal . The Federal Govt, regularly storm homes and legal cannabis stations . Tearing them apart and taking the plants. Obama has promised to stop this. We must hold him to it. And go further even. Legalize at least medical cannabis at a federal level, The rest will come. This insane mindset on cannabis has ruined lives. People are dieing not from there cancer, but from the side effects of the chemo. When cannabis would settle there horrible nausea, allowing them to eat. And is for chronic pain. I have a twisted degenerated spine , 12 vertebra’s fused, My neck is bending backwards and despite 1 major brain surgery a tumor still remains lodged in my memory, can never be removed. I know all about pain. It’s OK that i was on 240mg of oxycontin a day, & 120 mg of methadone. But god forbid , if i get my self some plants. I need the very best cannabis, for my horrible pain. And if legal ,I could get it, Now I’m forced to get it off the streets. Robin you did not die in vane. We will not let you. We will win this horrible war. on a plant. And we well remember these years as some of the darkest days in our history.

And we’re in Iraq fighting “terrorism”, when it’s our own government, who are the real terrorists. they use “terror” tactics, they dress like “terrorists”, they think like terrorists, they definitely act like terrorists, I mean WTF,I don’t have “super-vision”, or a “computer-brain”, hell I don’t even get paid to notice these things, or “investigate” nothing.
But, my face is starting to hurt, from being slapped by the fine government we have in this great country of ours.God damn it, this is the exact state Germany was in just before the “Third Reich”, record numbers in prison. While record number of prisons are being built, why, what are they expecting?
What does the government have against us, why are they inflicting this, cruel and unusual punishment, upon the people, neglect, the poverty, the unjust laws, Aaron Russo speaks of 800 or so underground “compounds”, or “prisons”? in an isolated area of the north west US, but, the government knows nothing about that, makes you wonder if they are using the same “intelligence” that worked so well in Iraq?

I am allergic to all opiates. They will kill me in a few days, should I require them.
While I do not (luckily) have any disease which requires pain relief, nor do I use marijuana, I would very much like to know that such options would be legally available to me, in the case of a pain-inducing disease.
If I can’t tolerate morphine, what other options might be available to me, in the case of a painful disease?
Note: I live in Florida.
From what I have read, marijuana is less harmful and addictive than alcohol, which is perfectly legal in my state.

May she RIP. Because she didn’t get any peace in her life. The DEA, AMA, the Drug Czar, the US Government are all so ignorant. Mary Jane is a herb not a drug. A herb that helps people in pain and depression. Oh, and don’t forget the FDA who is in the Pharmaceutical Companies pockets. Look how many drugs have killed people that have been taken off the market. Have there been any criminal charges? Of course not because criminals aren’t going to prosecute other criminals. and the ATF…alcohol is OK. It only rots your liver while getting you high. It only kills thousands on the roads every year. But that’s legal and has been since prohbition did’t work way back when.No war on alcohol because most of society are alcoholics. Pot is so much safer and healthier. But it makes you feel good so it’s bad. Well alcohol makes you feel good too. I am just so disgusted right now at the way medical pot users are treated. They aren’t criminals but are treated as such. And the AMA and the Dr.’s are so scared of the DEA that the ignore their hypocratical oath and sell their souls. I quit smoking cigarettes after 45 years but I haven’t quit smokin’ smoke and my lungs feel better than ever. May God help us all in this ignorant society.
